The way I approach visual music is that I don’t see it strictly as an adaptation of that musical score and just trying to match the synchronicity. I see the visuals as their own song and, by matching it up with another song, you end up with a remix that’s able to bring out something new in the visuals and something new in the song.
If I can make a video that still seems musical without any sound, then I’ve accomplished what I’ve wanted to.
